Finding your Wedding Style

One of the most creatively satisfying parts of designing a wedding is finding ways to showcase your own unique style and personality in ways that not only make the day beautiful, but also create an enjoyable, welcoming and comfortable setting for you and your guests!

Start by finding out what the most important elements of the wedding day are to you and your future spouse and then do them really well! Don’t spend your budget on things that are less important to you. You will love your wedding day (and the planning process!!) so much more, if you spend your energy and resources on the things that matter to YOU. The most beautiful, memorable, special weddings are filled with authenticity and purposeful details that tell the story of who you are as a couple.

Now that “what’s important to you” is informing all decisions, you get to play!! Rather than getting swamped and overwhelmed with ideas and possibilities on Pinterest, you get to reach down inside of your own story for the details that will make sense for your wedding day! YES!!!

Two of my favorite places to not only take care of your guests but also let your individual style shine, are during cocktail hour, and in your head table design.

Stylized Cocktail Party

Pick a signature drink – something that goes with your theme, the time of year, your color scheme, or your own personal taste. Provide your guests with the right kind of space to mingle, relax, have conversations and tell stories by setting up a beautiful lounge for them! Choose a grouping of cocktail tables, pub tables, sofas, chairs, rugs – things that are going to surprise and thrill your guests while making a statement about your personal style. And if classy, romantic, and elegant are adjectives you would use to describe your wedding day – skip the plastic cups and opt for the real thing! We carry a beautiful collection of vintage stemware that will set your cocktail party apart from any other! (This works for bridal showers and groom’s dinners too!!)

Head table design

You don’t often get the opportunity to set a beautiful table - to the nines!! It goes without saying that your wedding day should be one of those occasions! Let your head table shine with as much of your style and personality as possible! (You’ll thank me later when you’re looking back at your photos!!) We have everything you could need from specialty linens, wooden harvest tables, dining chairs, rugs, plate chargers, gold silverware, vintage stemware, candelabras, chandeliers, café lights, custom backdrops – we’ve got you covered!

Remember, above all else you and your guests will remember the experience of your wedding day. Think about setting the tone, the atmosphere – creating the space where all these special memories will be made.

I absolutely love that the growing trend is moving away from conventional banquet room style, the take-it-out-of-the-box-for-another-and-another-wedding, to more customized, personalized events! When it comes to decorations, color schemes, or traditions – don’t get stuck in the box! Instead, be true to yourself and your significant other, what you really want your wedding day to be, and then do it well! The details should bring joy to your planning process – not stress – because they are a true reflection of you and your love.
